2019年，我国5G技术及网络发展将进入试商用阶段，5G作为国家发展战略，将结合物联网、工业互联网、云计算、大数据、人工智能、区块链等新一代信息技术的运用，建设数字中国，对我国传统产业进行供给侧改革，创建智能经济社会，从而拉动我国新一轮经济增长。 这一发展态势，将深刻影响和改变光通信产业的发展格局，加快光通信产业向智慧型光通信产业方向发展的步伐。5G及物联网、新一代信息通信技术对光传送网、光接入网的技术及标准、网络建设及部署等提出新的要求；同时要求采用新的光器件与模块，以适应新的技术与应用的需求。 基于上述背景分析，将邀请光通信领域行业专家，围绕“光网络新技术、新应用与新业态”、“光宽带接入与智慧产业融合发展”、“光电子器件与光电集成技术”及“下一代的数据中心光互连技术”、“5G+产业+新一代信息技术”等议题方向，举办2019年《5G时代光通信产业转型与应用创新发展论坛》。
